There is a gap to bridge...
Did you know that human creativity is oppressed?
We have social & ecological justice problems partly due to the lack of value society and education give to human creativity.
You’ve heard these myths?
Creativity can’t be taught, or learned.
And if we do learn about creativity, it will take all the mystery out of it.
Anyway, people who question are trouble-makers.
Then there’s these…
Grassroots people have no power to create change… that’s up to our governments.
In any case, society can’t consist of people freely (creatively) thinking… imagine the consequences!
To keep our industrial age staffed with workers of visionaries of the taking kind, we have all been educated in:
- schools that don’t teach the subject of creativity itself,
and most of us have been educated in:
- schools that rarely teach via creativity’s process
- schools that rarely teach the creative process or creativity explicitly
- schools that foster academic cultures over creative cultures, and
- school systems that are found to reduce (even “kill”) our creativity.
BUT, as long as we are under-educated in creativity, our creative capacities
and our children’s creative capacities, and
their children’s creative capacities
… our ability to increase wellbeing by transforming conditions…
will remain under-developed,
which means we and they will never have the ability to influence direction.
How could a Creatology Award help you?
The Creatology Award has been created under the influence of two factors:
1. The demand for people like you with advanced creative skills and knowledge is ENORMOUS.
All sorts of sectors are screaming for increased creativity…
educational, ecological, scientific, economic, technological, political, industrial, digital… even spiritual.
The only way they can become more creative is to have the staff on board who whose creative and co-creative skills are masterful because they understand what creativity and co-creativity are through both knowledge and experience.
Add the Award to your CV/resume… it may help you gain roles that are more suited to you.
You might even be able to approach organsations who value creativity to be considered for a new role of Creatologist within the it… someone who oversees the creative and co-creative health of a department or an organisation.
2. Because of this demand, our advanced Creatives need to SHiNE and SHOW IT.
All Creatives should be offered the opportunity to get to know their preference for creativity and learn how it is they create so they will always know what it takes.
And this work deserves all sorts of recognition, including an Award.
Most Creatives have not had, and will not find, the opportunity to study creativity itself unless they find a University degree with a comparable unit such as innovation, or critical thinking… but even then, creativity itself, including what it is, what it does, how it does it, creative capabilties, creative practices etc, are yet to be covered in these units.
Hang the Award on your wall and treasure the project you created… or even take your project to the next level again using it as a launchpad for your creative life.
The Award can remind you that you created from your inner something in your outer that is goooood, and that you have the power to do it again, and again, and again.
